Xiaomi..Are you gonna be No.2 with this?

Hi Mi Team,

Launching all these new phones is great esp at the price that you guys are doing it is impressive and doing a great job at disrupting the current overpriced flagship market. However, what is missing and in real essence for most electronic
companies is to provide a robust and satisfying AFTER-SALE-SERVICE, which right now you guys are not doing or at least i have not experienced it yet.

I had purchased the Mi3, and last month due to its sleek and Zero grip body it fell from my hand damaging the camera lens and denting a few sides of the phone. I visited your service center in Malad, Mumbai and got a quote for it be repaired, but to my dismay the replacement was not there and to my frustration now, its still not there after over 3 months. I did some snooping online and came across alot of people/customers who are facing the same issue. These are the same customers btw who helped Mi India/ Xiaomi climb to the No.3 spot in the world as a phone company.

I love your products, i evangelise them, i look forward to more people switching to you brand/ products, however when such set-backs happen and when nothing is being done about it, i am left disappointed and extremely torn apart. I request your team and Hugo Barra to look into this ASAP and get this fixed. All-in-All it's not about SELLING, Making MONEY, its about the bond with the CUSTOMERS that will make the company, its products and leave a legacy like no other.

Your's Truly,

Update as on 05 May 2015.

Mi Indiathank you for getting my Camera Module fixed for Free, the gesture is much appreciated. However i hope you continue to serve ur customers before they go crazy ballistic. Its impossible to please all, and a fact well understood, but a reduction of the genuine ones can definitely make a difference. #MiFan

GalaxyS 4 Clone!! Fake!! Clone!! Fake!!

"Is my Samsung Galaxy S3-S4-Note 3, ORIGINAL?"

Yes, if such a question does not come to mind, please reconsider. I am a tech enthusiast and when i see a fancy, expensive and pricey gadget i wanna know all about it.

So when  i happen to spot a friend playing around with a Samsung Galaxy S4 (which btw was fake) i was pretty surprised as i knew in no way he could afford One, but seemed rather happy with the new purchase. So my Kidas started, and i asked him the device to play around with, and within seconds of playing around when i switched off the device to get to the Recovery Mode, guess what??? and then the Download Mode.

The Recovery Screen in Chinese
The Download Mode Upside-Down

So i instantly told him that the device was a Fake and that whether he knew it was one, to my surprise he did not. So i quizzed him on the details of Purchase and Price, he immediately told me, he picked up the device for Rs.15,000 from a dealer in Nausari, Gujarat and also told me it was sold to him at a discount, it seems these Fakes go for nothing less than Rs.20,000 odd out there. The public out there must be spending on the fake devices, just for Flaunting it in their Business Circles i assume.

The same sentiments are shared in Mumbai as well, where i have personally found such pieces at Haji-Ali, Mumbai Central Stn, Lamington Road, Bandra Hill Road, Andheri West, Borivali West and Indraprasht, Just to name a few of the locations where you pick up your piece from, be Aware, very Aware :-)

However i did find occurrences online of fake pieces being sold on the Various E-Commerce Website, one such instance is from  http://www.shopclues.com

But anyways i was pretty curious to get to the whole dealings and operations of these dealers, and not to forget to scrap out the innards of these devices and expose them here. So i borrowed the device in the same pristine condition he received it in, along with the packaging et all for a WEEK.

Once the Box got in my hands, i was pretty Shocked and Stunned, at the level of duplication these Copiers go to. The box, the accessories, the device, they all seemed so genuine again, not a hint of doubt would awaken in anyone's mind on the level of perfection. Below is the Unboxing of the Device.

I posted that i owned the device on Facebook, keeping the original Fake Price of Rs.15,000 that my friend got it. And to my surprise, my Facebook message folder and Whatsapp was flooded with request asking for the price of device that i got it at (guess everyone who knows me, knows that i only buy mobiles at extremely ridiculous and crazy prices, whether selling my own and bartering it with another usually). So i had people offer me from Rs.25,000 to Rs.20,000 in cash for the device, which even i after letting them play with it dint change their mind. It went to an extent where i had this one guy who placed Rs.20,000 in my hand saying that the device was his now, and that i get the box and accessories the next day; even after letting him know that the device was not an Original S4, but a fake. I had to literally run away, cause he just dint seem convinced. The people i tell u, no wonder these Pirates/Copiers make a run with the bucks and have such a thriving business, thanx to the ignorance in these so called RICH FOLKS :-P

The IMEI no with a Made in Vietnam Signage

So along with such amazing packaging how could i blame the poor guy into not believing that the device aint a Fake. However there are other ways to Prove whether a device is Fake Or Not and the Details start as below, by installing these very simple apps. A must when your picking up the device.

      1. So like i found out the Device did not have Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 but just a dual-core 1.3           GHz Cortex-A7 of which the SOC i aint completely aware of, one strange thing is even for a fake, it had       a Mali-400 GPU, my good old Galaxy S2 has it and that is a beauty of a device.

      2. It did not have a Full HD Resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.0  inches and 441 ppi Pixel Density, 2 GB       of RAM, and 16 GB of the  promised Internal Memory but instead was a mere 540 x 960 pixels, 4.7           Inches and 240 PPI Pixel Density, 512 MB Ram and 1.27 GB worth of Internal Storage...ahh this is             interesting; It came with a default ROOT-ACCESS.

      3. None of the Sensors functioned the way it was supposed to, a rather big disappointment even for a fake,       it could have done better at least in this department, but alas the Pirates don't care about us at all.

Anyways this is the most basic thing anyone could do first, as he/she  gets their hands on an expensive device such as the Galaxy S4.

Fake Firmware Info

Fake 16 GB on Internal Mem

Below are the System>About of the device for you to get an idea of  the Firmware Fake that's running. Here we are talking about the entire firmware being designed, so as to replicate the entire Original Device Look and feel. It takes it down right to the minutest of details. Even the Kernel Version seems Legit.

So here goes all the details needed to spot the FAKE from the ORIGINAL:

..suicide or not, my POI :-P

...Jiah Khan committed suicide and along with her this act others too committed suicide. Much has been written and told by many people expressing sympathy towards her but nobody dared to mention she was a coward and was scared to face the world boldly. There are many in this world that are paralyzed by no mistake on their part but have the strength to face life and live with a smile. Was Jiah a cripple ? Was she unable to go to the toilet ? Was somebody cleaning her pooh and washing her ? She had everything in the world that many many cannot afford but have the strength to face life. I know there are women out there whose husbands after loving them and getting them married one day sold them to a Prostitution bhadva for few thousands, imagine their heart plight and their situation ? but they were bold to give birth to kids that were impregnated against their wishes and sold their bodies and sent these children to schools and made them successful individuals. Nobody dared to say that what Jiah did was wrong. This is not the way to face situations, this is the way cowards behave. There are countless that are much much talented than Jiah but are struggling every day to get a foot in the Movie or Tv or any field that they are talented. I salute those unknown Bold individuals. There are countless that get ditched by their loved ones but never ever think of committing suicide but face the situation and come out bold with a smile. These are successful people. So what if the telgu director and producers wanted her to put on weight if the role demanded...SRK, Aamir Khan worked day and night and worked out to get six pack chiseled bodies, there are many actors that put on weight for the role. Look at Tabu she is 100 times talented than Jiah and is not getting roles in Bollywood as other dumb actresses but such is life , look how confident she looks. Nawazuddin slogged for more than 10 years living on peanuts before he got recognition. The list is endless. There are other people that need to be analyzed with regards to Jiah's suicide. The foremost is her mother. Most single mothers always want them to be crowned as Queen's. and want to be branded as sati vatri's and brainwash their children into hating their father's and making them villans. Jiah hated her father to an abnormal level Why ? Just bcoz he did not come to meet her. Did she go as a child and showed she wanted to meet him ? I'm no one to speculate on Jiah's life, in any case she is not important in my life. Who cares she committed suicide. Was just a flash in the pan for a week, a news item for the fodder hungry media. May her soul rest in peace and others learn from her mistake. May her family members get the patience from GOD to bear the loss.

This Blind World

..THIS Blind World...

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”
The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying:

“Just take care of my eyes dear.”

Dosti ka Mantra..

"Made the followin to friends...

The joys of life is something that cannot be understood with what you have but what you cherish in..something that cant be argued upon but felt in..something that cant be experienced but just lived upon...its somethings that money cant buy n faked upon..awesome fun, on a night hanging with a person who understands us n maybe with a person who decides to live with us..

Live with dat mantra, talk wat cmes to ur mind..u might make villains on ur way, but the path u choose n the actions u do is wat defines u...irrespective of wat u feel.."

Review of Manchester United Cafe @ Infiniti Mall, Malad-West

..so here i was roaming the biggest mall iv been to and prbly the biggest in mumbai i think operational right nw and its none other than *Infiniti Mall @ Malad-West* near Goregoan Sports Club on da link road itself...every single nite while returning home frm wrk i used to wonder what could this be,sm said Walmart, sm said Chinese Market and some even said J.W.Mariott..wow!
That really shocked me..but nonetheless,we see what is standing mighty and big here now.. *Another Mall*
So walkin and walkin da endless paths of stores on my left and right tempting me to purchase something or the other, but here ma willpower worked really well and i dint end up buyin anything.. And as i reached the 3rd floor i stumble upon an already opened MU Cafe, and i go to my pocket in awe as i click the pic of the United banner featurin Rooney..so here goes..
As u want to enter this heaven of a place for all united fans and footbal lovers, a distinctive yet known figure is what occupies the glass door, united fans would refer it to the red devil along with the sceptre or trishul as we commonly know it...enter in and your greeted by either the manager or a staff, who wil den guide you to an unoccupied table aftr askin you - table for how many sir/maam...coming back to decor ders this nicely done hanging frm top readin Glory Glory below each other n another one that makes it feel like a reflection on da floor instead givin u a glass lyk illusion (sorry i cldnt get the poc of this, Its betta wen u check it out urself,ur sure to luv it),bt let me tell you it aint, stil beautifully done up, and then onto ur right at the entrance, United Official Merchandise is displayed at discounted price for anyone to purchase (easily a bang for ur buck,n a kick on Nike's ass)..
So now it being a sunday,as usual lyk any bar or restuaraunt it was full wit ppl chilling and njoyin the india vs england test being telecasted...so we entered the place checkin around and we see a small section onto the left-end of the cafe, designed wit a bar-seating in mind (da nly seatin place available)..we get there n park ourselves swinging the chair around to luk at the club, now out came ma cam,ma fone which sux in da dark so fortunately i took ma frnds HTC Incredible wit dual flash n started what im gud at,clicking every little thing fascinating..
So in between all dat the cafe attendant came over wit the alcohol n food menu n again very attractive luking, opened it and most dishes seemed very diffrnt or what we dont come across at usual diners bt more lyk a Poptates..da best deal ryt now are the Happy Hours which run frm 12pm-1am (basically ryt frm opening to closing tym).. And its a *Buy 1 get 1 Free* on any alcohol..so here its lyk rs.150 fr a small vodka, which means u gt 2 in dat price (xtra fr mixer,be it a sprite or orange juice). And fr beer lovers, Its nly Heiniken or Carlsberg,so u cant b da King of Good Times out here, damnnn n im big Kingfisher Beer lover, which i think is da best beer.. And after orderin ma drink i headed to the loo/washroom/toilet and the doors take me by surprise again, we have the red devil designed into the form of male and female to address each door, luked really great. And da toilets are well maintained, clean but a little stuffy, If everyone thinks of takin a leak all at the same tym..nw as i returned back.. I came across the United Memroblia, hanged on da walls and i cldnt figure out who it was,myb ull can.. And the walls wer we were seatin hd posters of Rooney,Owen n Chicarito all round near the bar lyk table.. Also frm the ceiling, a spiraling or rather a vortex lyk shaped thing hangs down upon every table wit a light bulb inside it..
So when it cme to order anything to eat,we skipped dat part as most dishes seemed expensive..myb ill try it the next tym im in with ma other best friend and prbly spend more tym than wat i did da 1st tym..wen i went here smhow the speakers had an issue and instead of the cricket commentary or music being played, all i had to listen to was alot of ppl talking and havin a great tym..while being served you can njoy and watch a game or two on a really huge projector, as well as some LCD hanging around where ur table cld be and also take full advantage of the happy hours till it lasts (not to frgt all the possible taxes attached to dat final bill sent to you, could probly gve u a heart attack, as its most of the tym the cost of a drink or two)
Overall the MU Cafe is located in a prime location n is 1 of the best malls i thnk.. Also in the comin days we have Cinemax opening up,so movie goers can grab a drink or two, at inexpensive prices (read: Ruby Tuesday) now you can defiently get drunk n take a nap in sm gud a/c if u gonna watch a sad/borin flick
So overall a great place fr all frnds, family or wrk colleagues to hang out at.. And hope ull have a gud rym and hopong this review will be of sm help in your decision makin, however pls visit a MU Cafe, the cafe of one of the most biggest clubs in footballing HISTORY to feel the experience yourself..

Ganpati Gadad, Sonavla Village (base)

The Whole Map to the beautiful Kingdom of Ganpati Gadad

Trek planned again by the boys only this time it happened, from over 9 ppl the figure dropped to a measly 4 (since all of them were busy).. however no planning done by me, n hence i dint have to worry much..but still the adrenalin rushing through ma head as usual (like i mentioned in ma prev blog) i cldnt get an ounce of sleep; and here i was awake roaming like a ghost at Prash’s apartment a friend from Chembur where me and my Best-Friend Clive spend the night after an enjoyable, yet humorous dinner that he invited us for with his Uncle (who came from down south for sm work) and his jovial Dad..

I ended up waking them up by 5am and we headed to Kurla Station to catch the Kalyan fast after waiting in line for along time and purchasing a `20 return ticket. Now we reached Kurla station which seemed quick as i had very gud company & clicking sm gud pics out of a running train & dat too early morning,so i was already all charged up & anxious to start clicking the upcoming trek (which i gt sm beautiful photos n video’s of btw,u cn comment bout them later).

Kalote Waterfalls, Karjat

A friends bday and  a plan for a trek the next day..with barely any sleep (cldnt get any due to the adrenaline and excitement) dat grips me bfre ma football matches, outing/trek, or any event that puts me in the driver’s seat...

So here i was up n awake, leaving home with ma gal at around 5.40am on a cold, wet, rainy Sunday morning.. the plan was that everyone needed to assemble by 6.15am at Dadar Stn, knowing that we have alot of punctual (heavy sarcasm here) individuals in our group , including me at times..bt nly Amit being the one to turn up, as we had to catch the 7.03am fast bound train to Khopoli (which is after karjat)..we missed dat n hence had to wait until 7.53am for da next train (u see the time frame – huge gap)..so we treated ourselves to some vada/samosa-pav and chai, along with a small photo-shoot as well.. Frgt to mention it was 9 of us in total (6 guys n 3 gals)..so here the train arrives and within just 7sec it gets full, and dat too on a Sunday morning dint really expect dat though (hence, NEVER travel by train post 7am)..we somehw managd to catch seats for the women to sit and aftr awhile i got place myself to sit n relax,sm slept; we reached Karjat by 10am (aorund 2hrs journey)
